You’ve probably heard me say it before, but I rarely do indoor sessions. Why? Well, I just prefer natural light. Don’t get me wrong; I think studio photography is so impressive! It’s just not my thing. I’m trying to define my style as a photographer, and I’m discovering that the images I’m attracted to are filled with natural light, are light, fresh and classic.
…I guess i thought I couldn’t create these types of images inside. Well…I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone! So when Lexi contacted me a few months ago about doing Piper’s one-year session in JANUARY, I knew this was a great opportunity to get myself indoors (we couldn’t make this little girl sit outside in the cold!). Since we recently moved in to our new home, all of our upstairs rooms are unpainted, stark white, and filled with lots of windows and natural light! I LOVE it! I’ve turned one of the rooms into an office/studio and am excited to never paint it.
And did I mention how much I love this family? You may remember that sweet little face from a family session I shared last fall. The Reeds were one of the first families to take me seriously as a photographer. Haha! But really…do you know how much that means to me?!
Anyway…enough of the rambling! Enjoy a handful of my favorites of sweet baby Piper. I already told Lexi that I’m “reserving” her to be Jack’s girlfriend in 20 years 😉
