LY Weddings: Natalie + Evan

The incredible thing about this photography business is that it brings some pretty remarkable people into my life; the sad part of this business is that I too quickly have to deliver their images and just HOPE I get to see them again some time.

That’s especially how I feel about Natalie and Evan. And if you’re reading this and you are blessed enough to call one of them friend or brother or sister or coworker or old classmate, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Natalie is incredible; loving, gentle, kind, patient, composed, genuine – SO genuine!, beautiful, encouraging, funny, energetic… She’s someone you want to have around for awhile. And Evan? He’s hilarious!, relaxed, friendly, easy-going…and has great taste in music (My second shooter Kaila and I were thrilled to hear Vampire Weekend echoing from the groomsmen suite)!

We spent their beautiful wedding day celebrating their new life as Mr. and Mrs. Botello and it was one of those days I spent smiling from ear to ear because it was perfect. Perfectly perfect. And I TRULY mean it when I say that the world is going to be a little brighter now that these two incredible souls are one.

I’m so thrilled to give you a little glimpse into their special day!

LY Children: Lincoln, Calvin and Norah

Spent an evening last week exploring with these three and their momma! I love how these pictures perfectly capture the adventurous personalities of these siblings. So much fun!

LY Families: The Smiths

Matt and Kellyn are friends from way back and I’m grateful that my photography gave me a reason to reconnect with them! We had the best evening catching up and snapping pictures and hanging out with their awesome little guy, Austin. His laid-back personality made it so easy. Happy almost-birthday, Austin!

Enjoy my favorites from our sunny evening together!

LY Families: The Wolffes

This cute family is particularly significant to my business. Back in 2013, my photography was still just a hobby. Tommy and Makayla were newly engaged and I was wondering how I’d ever start shooting weddings with nothing to show for myself. I decided to go out on a limb and ask them if I (with NO wedding experience at all!) could shoot their wedding.

Three years and two babies later and I’m still just as thankful to these two as I was on their wedding day. Tommy + Makayla, thanks for believing in me then and now!

LY Engagements: Jarrett + McKinsey

There’s a funny story that goes along with this session. Well, funny to me; not sweet to Jarrett and McKinsey. A few weeks before their engagement session, I learned that I was pregnant, and that I’d be unable to photograph their summer 2016 wedding. I was terrified to tell McKinsey. You see, she’s a planner. And we had PLANS for me to photograph her wedding!

A few nights before their session, I called McKinsey and broke the news. At first, she was silent. And then she spoke up and kept gushing about how excited for us she was. She was gracious, kind and so understanding!

While I wished I would have been able to photograph their gorgeous wedding, I’m so grateful I had that opportunity to capture these two as an engaged couple. What a sweet, sweet season! Enjoy a few favorites!
